Mastering the energies of your story
Monday-Friday
9:00-11:30 AM
Terrace I
Writing a well-written narrative is mastering the energies of your story—the multi-faceted energies that determine the moods, reactions, choices and traits of your characters, the energies between characters, the drive of the pacing, action and dialogue to create a deeper, emotionally powerful resonance within your total story structure. If you ’re serious about your writing, this hands-on dramatic writing workshop will bring a new perspective to understanding these elements. All types of writing and genres are welcome, but the primary focus of the workshop is on literature of the visionary, supernatural, metaphysical, new age, horror, fantasy, and science fiction.
Message to Students
I require of my students dedication and a willingness to listen and pay attention. My advice for writers who have never attended SBWC is to pace yourself and forget about writing for a while after the conference so you can integrate the experience on subconscious levels.
