For over 25 years, Lisa Howe has worked with people from all walks of life on writing, creativity, and art, helping them discern their best choices and develop their creative practices, ideas, skills, and presence. She has logged thousands of hours in one-on-one consultation, group workshops, and coaching and has taught workshops and courses at Brandeis University, Loyola Marymount University, Antioch University Los Angeles, Northeastern University, and Miami University of Ohio. She has worked as a freelance editor and writer, writing and creative consultant, ghostwriter, and script doctor.
A published poet, Lisa also writes fiction, nonfiction, and screenplays. She co-founded and edited Slack Buddha Press, an award-winning small press that published over 30 titles of innovative writing from the U.S. and abroad. The press was active from 2003-2011.
She holds a Ph.D. in Literature from Brandeis University and completed graduate study in screenwriting at Emerson College. She also holds a B.A. in Literature from the College of Creative Studies at UC Santa Barbara.
