Marianne Dougherty is an award-winning writer with twenty-five years of publishing experience. She has directed or developed a number of beauty trade magazines, and is currently editor in chief of American Salon, the oldest and most widely circulated trade magazine for beauty professionals. She is co-author of Asian Beauty, which was published by HarperCollins in 2001. In the 1990s she appeared regularly as a beauty consultant on Live in LA and has been interviewed on Lifetime Network’s New Attitudes. She has also appeared on Weekend Today New York. She holds a Master’s Degree in English from the University of Scranton. Currently she is editing her novel, Raised on Promises.
