Summer 2010 Registration
Conference
The 2010 summer conference is Thursday, June 17, through Wednesday, June 23, 2010.
Venue
The conference is held at the beautiful Hotel Mar Monte on Santa Barbara’s stunning oceanfront. The hotel offers lovely amenities, including luxurious rooms, wifi, a beautiful pool, exercise room and spa, and restaurant and bar. Across the street is the Pacific Ocean and the 22-mile Cabrillo Beach walkway for runners, walkers and cyclists. Downtown Santa Barbara is within walking distance, as are Stearns Wharf and the Harbor, where there are shops and restaurants. The Hotel Mar Monte’s special room rate for those attending the Santa Barbara Writers Conference is $189 per night plus tax on Friday and Saturday nights, and $139 per night plus tax Sunday through Thursday nights. The Hotel Mar Monte also owns a nearby hotel, The Parkside Inn, where SBWC students can reserve rooms for $139 Friday and Saturday and $99 per night Sunday through Thursday. Registration
You may register for the conference electronically or contact us to make other arrangements. Cancellation and refund policy: No refunds will be given after May 15, 2010. Requests for refunds must be made in writing by postal mail to Santa Barbara Writers Conference, P.O. Box 6627, Santa Barbara, CA 93160. A $50 administrative fee will be charged for all refunds.
Fees
Our early-bird discounted rate is $875 through March 1, 2010. After March 1, the conference fee will be $995. It includes six days of workshops, lectures, panels, speakers, Saturday night cocktail party and final awards breakfast on Wednesday, June 23. Conference check-in opens Thursday afternoon. There will be a special fund-raising reception and dinner Thursday night to benefit the conference and its Young Writers program. Cost of the dinner is $75 per person, which is in addition to the conference registration fee.
Manuscript Review Option
You may also request a written manuscript review by one of our workshop faculty for an additional $40. All manuscripts must be accompanied by a self-addressed, stamped envelope and must be received at the conference post office box address no later than May 15, 2010.
Agents and Editors Day
The Agents and Editors Day fee is $40 per agent/editor, and will be payable during Agents and Editors Day sign-ups prior to the conference. The earlier you register for the conference, the higher your priority in choosing agents and editors.
