Across the street is the East Beach Grill, the Pacific Ocean and the 22-mile Cabrillo Beach walkway for runners, walkers and cyclists. Downtown Santa Barbara is within walking distance, as are Stearns Wharf and the Harbor, for more shops and restaurants.
The Hyatt Santa Barbara's special room rate for those attending the Santa Barbara Writers Conference is $209 per night plus tax on Saturday night, and $159 per night plus tax Sunday through Thursday night. Reservations must be made with the hotel: call (888) 421-1442, or visit this reservation link: Santa Barbara Hyatt.
Another, more affordable option for conference attendees is the Parkside Inn, which is located just two blocks away from the Hyatt Santa Barbara. Guests at the Parkside Inn check in at the Hyatt Santa Barbara's front desk, and are welcome to use all of the Hyatt's facilities. All Parkside Inn rooms are non-smoking. The Parkside's special room rate for SBWC attendees is $129 per night plus tax Saturday through Thursday night. Reserve your stay here: Parkside Inn.
Last year the Hyatt sold out, so be sure to book your reservation early. The deadline for the SBWC group rate is May 7, 2014.
A number of other hotels and motels along Cabrillo Boulevard are just a short electric shuttle ride away.
